A native of Smithville, Texas, Joe Patterson was raised on a family-owned registered Brahman and commercial cattle ranch. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1988 with a B.S. degree in Agricultural Economics. A widely-recognized expert in ranch, rural property, and country home financing, Joe places special emphasis on personalized customer service. Offering his customers the specific expertise of more than 15 years of rural real estate lending experience, Joe is passionate about helping people acquire their own little piece of Texas. He is responsible for the founding of two different ranch lending offices, growing each to a combined portfolio in excess of $100 million. Earlier in his career, Joe served the Texas agribusiness industry for 13 years in management and marketing positions with the Texas Beef Council and the International Brangus Breeders Association where he gained valuable experience and built an extensive business network.

Joe is an active affiliate member of several state and area real estate organizations, including the Four Rivers Association of Realtors where he currently serves as the organization’s first Affiliate Director, the San Antonio Board of Realtors Farm & Land Committee, the Texas Alliance of Land Brokers (TALB), and the Texas Land Brokers Network (TLBN). Elected to be the first-ever Affiliate Director of the TALB, Joe served two terms on the board in 2009 and 2010. He was honored by TALB in 2010 as the first non-Realtor to ever receive their prestigious Joe M. Cullinan Distinguished Service Award for his exemplary service as a practitioner of rural land financing.

For more than a decade, Joe has been a sought-after speaker asked to share his thoughts on rural land financing and has given numerous informative presentations to wildlife and outdoor groups. He is actively involved with the Dallas Safari Club, the Texas Wildlife Association, and the Houston Livestock Show’s Ranching & Wildlife Expo.

Roger began his lending career working in the Texas Panhandle before returning home to the Hill Country in 2002. With over 15 years of experience in ranch and rural lending, Roger was heavily involved in opening and establishing three new offices in the Hill Country and South Texas. During this time, he managed a loan portfolio in excess of $100 million along with developing a strategic alliance with Cabela’s Trophy Properties as their preferred lender throughout the United States. Since that time, Roger has been involved in ranch acquisitions and refinances in excess of $300 million in California, Colorado, Georgia, Nebraska, New Mexico, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas and Wyoming. He has completed various land appraisal courses and obtained certifications providing him a solid background for understanding market values in Texas and throughout the Southwest. With Roger’s current loan portfolio of landowners and clients located in various areas of the Eagle Ford Shale, he has been able to gain valuable knowledge in understanding current and future royalty income along with discounted cash flows; mineral valuations; production reports; and determining the value of the surface when it conveys with or without minerals.

Roger is actively involved with the family ranches in Mills and Hamilton counties. Roger served as an Affiliate Director for the Texas Alliance of Land Brokers in 2013 and is a proud member and supporter of the Texas Wildlife Association.
